TOPIC: Business Cards

Did you know???

You can create your own business cards at a fraction of normal printing costs!

This is what you will need:

  • You need a PC with Microsoft Word or a similar Word Processing application installed that can print labels.
  • You need a PRINTER, preferably a color printer to give a professional look.
  • You need to purchase BUSINESS CARD STOCK. You can purchase this from your local office supply store nearby or online, your local drug store or a nearby Wal-Mart.
  • You need to purchase BUSINESS CARD STOCK. You can purchase this from your local office supply store nearby or online, your local drug store or a nearby Wal-Mart.

Be creative and professional at the same time!

  • Do you have a logo? You can insert your logo on your cards. These can be resized to fit by using the 'format' option with 'right mouse' features.
  • Do you have a slogan? If so, this is part of your trademark and you should put this in the center of your cards in large print. You can modify your type font, size, bold and italics when you have saved the file in Word.
  • Be creative! Design your own cards with unique fonts, colors and formats so that people will remember you. A little extra time up front may leave a lasting footprint in your future. Besides, it's fun to do.
  • You can create a two-sided business card and provide more information about yourself and your business. Just create two files in Word named differently for each side and then print them as such.

EXTRA TIPS:

Save a new copy of the business card file in Word for each label that you use. Name the file with the label number for easy reference i.e.: Business card side 1 Avery 8371. You may not always purchase the same card stock. Microsoft Word has pre-set labels that you can select for business cards, post cards, labels, file folders etc.

For Microsoft Word Go to:

Tools
Envelopes & Labels
Labels
Options
Product Number and description including size
OK to select
New Document (saves the file into Word to modify and format)

You can print once you have finished designing your personalized business cards.

HAVE FUN!
